This week I found three useful apps (toys) for Bob.
Heart Rate Camera-Touchless Pulse, Intra Labs, LLC. ($2.99) (there are several free apps)
The company makes clear this app is not a medical app. I actually think that is a CYA statement (cover your ass). So, let's play it their way. You exercise a lot and want to see how much you increase your heart rate.
It works like this, install the app on either your iPhone, iPad, or both. As long as the device has a camera you are in business. Open the app and hold the device in front of your face. In probably less than a minute your heart rate number will appear on the screen. Do this before you begin exercising and again when you stop to see the amount of increase. It works off skin tones.
The free apps are probably just fine but since pulse and blood pressure readings are so important in this house I suppose I thought purchasing one would mean it was better (probably not). Bob has checked it several times against the number he gets from his blood pressure machine and it is within a point of the same.
I expect Bob to begin stopping strangers so he can hold his phone in front of their faces and tell them their heart rates.
Level is a fun free app. Install it and you have yourself a level in case you see anything crooked. Looks just like the levels we've always known and loved, complete with the bubble in the liquid.
Flashlight is a free app both of us enjoy. Turns your camera flash into a flashlight.
Folks that's it for today.

We do have the Level and the Flashlight app. My husband has used the Level quite often...not so much the flashlight. He likes the app that keeps track of how far he's run and how fast. I wonder how the heart rate app would work if you are more tanned like us in Hawaii.
I have numerous fun aps on my ipad and iphone...and i can't figure out how most of them work. When did I become so tech stupid? I used to be a techie. When I got my iphone and made my first call to my daughter, I had to ask her how to end the call!
There is a lot of Apps launched for iPad like VPN For iPad .
I can see that I am missing out on a world of fun.
First, love the first paragraph ... Laughing still. I used to say check to see if I can click a mouse before declaring me dead.
Thanks for app suggestions. I get overwhelmed when trying to figure out apps. Maybe we should start a iPad app support group.
I've got the flashlight and level. I might have to check out that other app! :-)
LOL I've had the iPad since June and I'm still learning... and it's been my CONSTANT companion!
No smart phones here, only a Samsung tablet. We are mostly appless.
No iPhone or iPad here. G has one app....a weight watcher one where when he reads the bar code his phone tells him how many points there are in each serving.
So very sorry about that second fall. Yes, after my fainting spell and time in the hospital, I too was warry of going anywhere by myself. Now I drive, but I use a cane to stabilize me. It helps.
